A federal judge has ordered Rudy Giuliani, former attorney for Donald Trump and ex-mayor of New York City, to hand over his most valuable possessions, including his Manhattan penthouse apartment, to Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss—the Georgia election workers he defamed. Giuliani now owes them a staggering $150 million. Freeman and Moss, who were falsely accused while counting ballots during the 2020 election, are also entitled to around $2 million in legal fees. Among the items Giuliani must surrender are several luxury watches, a signed Joe DiMaggio jersey, sports memorabilia, a 1980 Mercedes, and various pieces of furniture, jewelry, and electronics. The judge has scheduled another hearing for Monday to address Giuliani’s Florida property.
Meanwhile, filmmaker Spike Lee is urging Black voters supporting Donald Trump to reconsider before the upcoming election. In a recent interview on MSNBC, Lee criticized Trump supporters, saying they’ve been “drinking the Kool-Aid,” and praised former President Barack Obama for calling out the lack of enthusiasm for Vice President Kamala Harris among Black men. Obama emphasized this issue while campaigning for Harris, noting that it "seems to be more pronounced with the brothers." Spike Lee echoed Obama’s concerns, saying, “I just hope my brothers get their minds straight before this election. There's nothing that Trump can do to put Black Americans—or any Americans—on a better path forward.”
On a different note, actor Idris Elba has revealed plans to relocate to Africa within the next decade to help develop the continent's burgeoning film industry. Born in London to parents from Ghana and Sierra Leone, Elba intends to honor his African roots by building film studios in Tanzania’s Zanzibar islands and in Accra, Ghana’s capital. In an interview with the BBC, Elba expressed his excitement about the move, saying, “I’m not just considering it—it's going to happen."
