Rap Rising: Young Thug Fires Shots On New Song 'Money On Money' With Future

Young Thug shared his first new song in nearly 18 months and fired some shots at a "rat."

On Friday, April 25, the Atlanta native dropped his new single "Money On Money" featuring Future from his upcoming album. On the song produced by Wheezy, Southside, 9Jay, Rosen Beatz, Dez Wright & Juke Wong, Thugger targets a weasel that used to be in his inner circle. In the chorus, he raps, "These f**k n****s tellin' for nothin', and I gotta be the one callin' 'em friend." Later on in his verse, Thug says "Brother, you a rat."

Some fans believe the shots were aimed at Gunna. Since his release from jail in 2022, Gunna has been labeled a snitch by some of Thug's biggest supporters like Lil Baby and Future. Both artists have called the "Drip Too Hard" rapper a snitch over the past two years. They made the allegations after Wunna entered an Alford plea in the YSL RICO case, which got him released from jail early and excluded from the historic trial. Gunna's lawyers have insisted that the 300/Young Stoner Life signee did not rat on Thug. Despite his attorneys' best efforts to clear his name, the One of Wun artist still faces the accusations to this day.

In addition to the track, Young Thug also dropped the official music video directed by Kaito and Brendon O'Connor. "Money On Money" is the first offering from Young Thug's upcoming album UY Scuti, which is set to drop this summer. The song also sits at the top of iHeartRadio's Rap Rising playlist. The playlist holds new music from Megan Thee Stallion, Flo Milli, Tee Grizzley and more.
