Michael Lohan, the father of actress Lindsay Lohan, was sentenced to nine months in Palm Beach County Jail in relation to a violation of his probation, TMZ reported on Wednesday (April 23).

Lohan, 64, a former Wall Street broker, will receive 38 days credited for time already served and waived his right to ask for any additional credited time following Wednesday's ruling, according to court documents obtained by Page Six.

Lohan was initially placed on probation after being convicted of patient brokering in 2022, with investigators finding that he allegedly received at least $25,000 in illegal kickbacks by steering addicts, including a woman he had a sexual relationship with, into a Florida drug treatment center, pleading guilty to five counts at the time. The 64-year-old violated his probation when he was charged with "continuous violence against the family" in relation to assault accusations made by his estranged wife, Kate Major, in February.

Major filed a report with responding officers, claiming Lohan had flipped her out of a chair days before his arrest, which she said resulted in pain and discomfort, while a female deputy confirmed she had suffered bruising. Lohan is currently being held in jail on a $30,000 bond.

Michael and Kate were married in 2014, however, have been estranged since 2018, at which point she filed for divorce after being charged with simple battery for an incident in which she allegedly hurled a glass candle at her husband. Lohan, who shares Lindsay with his ex-wife, Dina, whom he was married to from 1985 to 2007, filed for full custody of his sons with Major at the time.

Lohan and Major have had several legal issues over the years, which included Michael being arrested for allegedly being "physically abusive" to Major in 2020, as well as police getting involved in a heated confrontation between the couple in June 2024.
