Cam'ron had a lot to say about Jim Jones' past, but DJ Envy and Maino provided some clarity and explained what really went down.

It all started earlier this week when Cam went in on Jones in the opening monologue of his show It Is What It Is. The Diplomats rapper claimed Capo was "a fan" before he got down with Dipset. He also said Jones makes up with everyone who's ever laid hands on him. To prove his point, Cam claimed Jones first met his Lobby Boyz partner Maino after he confronted the Brooklyn rapper for allegedly dissing him in his breakthrough song "Rumors."

“Ever wonder how he met Maino?" Cam began. "Maino gonna downplay it ’cause they cool now. He tried to press Maino ’cause Maino first came out with a little record where he said a n***a’s name. So Jim went to see Maino one day and was like, ‘Yo, wassup with all that saying my name?’ Maino said, ‘Who the f**k you talking to?! Oh, you think I’m one of them n***as? You out your muthaf**kin' mind!’ Now they’re the Lobby Boyz.”

Soon after Cam went on his rant, both DJ Envy confirmed Jones confronted Maino a long time ago. The Breakfast Club host described Jones and fellow Dipset rapper Freeky Zekey as the "muscle" of the rap group. Envy said he was there when Maino and the "We Fly High" rapper had a tense exchange inside a nightclub. According to Envy, Maino acted like he was going to pull a gun on Jones even though he wasn't really strapped.

"So Maino had three [people with him],” the radio personality explained. “Jim came in the club and must have had about 15 dudes with him. And when he walked down the stairs, the first thing Maino did was turn around and said, ‘Yo, everybody tuck your chains in.' Jim walked over, with all the dudes in front of Maino, and Maino went in his jacket like he had a gun. And when he fake pulled out like he had a gun, the club scattered. Everybody cleared out and we all ran out."

"I was surprised because I know we all went through the metal detectors," he added. "I was like, ‘Yo, how did you sneak in a gun?’ [Maino] was like, ‘I lied. I was just bluffing.’ But that really happened. When Jim ran up on Maino, that absolutely, positively happened.”

Maino also clarified Cam's story about Jim. While on Way Up With Angela Yee, Maino recalled a different situation that went down in Atlanta. It was obvious that they didn't like each other, but they didn't face off the way Cam described. In fact, Maino clarified that the Bronx native was mad because he mentioned Cam on "Rumors," not Jones.

"Me and Jimmy's tension came from me mentioning Cam," he told Yee. "So Jimmy didn't like me so we would kinda see each and kinda have these face fights. Nothing ever happened, right? We were in Atlanta and we had a conversation. He didn't approach me or press me or none of that. We had a conversation. It wasn't spectacular. Nobody swung."

Not long after Cam made headlines with his response, Jim Jones shared a preview of his upcoming song "JOMO" in which he fires back at the Purple Haze rapper.

"N***as talkin' bout they outside but they put everything on a post," Jones raps. "So what more you wanna ask 'em?/You n***as taught me how to rap, now I'm platinum."
