Ye has already made millions in sales just 24 hours after he debuted Yeezy's latest collection.
On Tuesday, January 14, the artist formerly known as Kanye West posted an update shortly after he dropped brand-new apparel on his YZY-SPLY website. The collection features new clothing as well as his second footwear release. The Yeezy SL-01, also known as the "YZY SLPR," is an all-black low-cut upper with a ribbed sole throughout the bottom of the shoe. The slippers dropped exclusively via the Yeezy website on Monday for $20. As of 12 a.m., Ye said he racked up over $2.3 million in sales.
The Yeezy SL-10's size model begins at a 2 and increases by two sizes all the way up to 16. There are no other logos or designs on the shoe, but there is a number on the bottom soles. The slipper comes over a year after Ye debuted his first shoe following his split from former business partner adidas. The YZY Pods are all-black sock sneakers. At first, Ye dropped the shoes for $200 but he eventually brought the price down to $20.
Soon after he boasted about his first-day sales, Ye claimed he's "YOUR FAVORITE GOAT'S FAVORITE GOAT" in a post on X. Later on, he quoted his infamous speech from the 2005 Grammy Awards.
“THEY TOLD YOU I WAS DEAD BROKE CLONED DO THIS SOUND LIKE A CLONE I DONT TAKE ADVICE I GIVE IT I DO AND SAY WHAT THE F**K I WANNA SAY WHEN I WANNA SAY HOW I WANNA SAY WHENEVER I WANNA SAY IT EVERYBODY WANTED TO KNOW WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF YE NEVER GOT MONEY AGAIN I GUESS WE’LL NEVER F**KING KNOOOOW WE’LL NEVER EVER EVER F**KING KNOOOOOOOW I’M RICH FOREVER AND EVER IN EVERY LIFETIME," he wrote.
His latest boom in YZY sales comes as Ye continues to fuel excitement for his upcoming album Bully. Earlier this week, the seasoned rapper and producer teased some high-profile reunions with Mike Dean, who has been involved with Ye's albums from The College Dropout to his Donda LP, and his first cousin, The WRLDFMS Tony Williams. As of this report, there's no confirmed release date for Bully. However, fans have already heard a couple of snippets from the project, and they liked what they heard.
