Lisa Marie Presley's posthumous memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown, released earlier this week, contains intimate information about a handful of celebrities including woes the star experienced amid her relationship with musician Danny Keough.

According to People, Presley became pregnant within the first four months of her and Keough's relationship and, while suffering appendix troubles, was told by doctors that she had an ectopic pregnancy. Presley became pregnant again and this time around, decided to get an abortion; a decision that tore she and Keough apart.

"I ended up having an abortion. And it was the stupidest thing I've ever done in my whole life. I was devastated. I did it and we both cried. We were both destroyed and not long after that we fell apart and broke up. I couldn't live with myself."

In an effort to redeem the situation, Presley "planned and schemed" and followed her ex onto a cruise ship (where she knew he'd be performing with his band) while she was ovulating.

"I didn’t care if he wanted to be a part of it or not. I felt that I had to redeem, to make amends, because I still couldn’t believe I had had an abortion. I thought, I’m going to have this child. There is a child I need to be having. I would be talking to the lost child, saying, 'I'm so sorry, I can't believe I f****** did that. Please forgive me and stay with me until I get pregnant again.'"

Presley ended up getting pregnant a third time, and she and Keough were married, an event in which the star felt she'd "trapped him" into.

"I didn't really mean to, but I did."

The mother-of-two went on to give birth to daughter Riley in 1989 and son Benjamin in 1992 before she and Keough divorced in 1994.

Presley died of a "small bowel obstruction" at age 54 in 2023, nearly three years after Benjamin died by suicide in 2020.
