On Friday (4/24), R&B soul sensation Kem stopped by The Steve Harvey Morning Show to talk his new single, "Lie To Me," a soulful declaration to unconditional love, his marriage and the birth of his daughter, Trinity.
Whether you've realized it or not, it's been about six years since the Nashville-born, Detroit-raised artist has dropped a single and as you can imagine, he and the crew had a lot of catching up to do.
First Unc congratulated him on his recent nuptials and the birth of his new baby girl, Trinity. Both in which Kem took to his IG to announce.
Take a look:
Just as any proud father would, Kem gushed about the birth of his 7-month-old daughter and how she entered the world in his master bedroom:
"Trinity was born October 6th and...we were supposed to go to this birthing center in Atlanta, that's about 45 minutes from where we are in Fayetteville, but we didn't make it. So Trinity was born; made her entrance in our master bedroom. My mother was here and delivered the baby....My mother brought her granddaughter into this world. It was a beautiful thing"
Yes a beautiful thing indeed!
Another beautiful thing is Kem's latest single, "Lie To Me." The 50-year-old R&B soulful singer reveals that he, Anthony Hamilton, Salaam Remi and James Poyser wrote the track back in 2016 and credits his wife for the inspiration behind it.
"I met my wife and we sat down and we had a conversation about being honest and open with each other and not trying to put a 'selfie filter' on our personalities so we can make ourselves look good in public, but just keeping it real and that was inspiration behind lie to me."
Aww...we love that!
