Relive Michael Jackson and all his glory in this upcoming Broadway musical.
The King of Pop is gone but not forgotten. In a long-awaited creative way, artists will come together to pay homage on the big stage. Following The Cher Show, Broadway's Neil Simon Theater will be home to MJ the Musical.
The project is fashioned to share Michael's starring career moments during his 20s and 30s and will feature a book by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage. Playbill reported Christopher Wheeldon will be directing and choreographing the piece that was originally supposed to debut this fall. Arrangements didn't go as planned since there were too many delays in the "developmental lab presentation and skepticism over the show's subject matter in light of the various abuse allegations against the late performer."
More details about the cast are still to come. Opening night will be August 13, 2020 and is expected to go into the 2021 season.
