A total of three concerts will have to be postponed due to threatening text message.
There's no doubt Dionne Warwick, Peabo Bryson and Deniece Williams were excited to hit the road for the "A Night of Class" concerts. What they surely didn't expect was having to push dates back due to offensive "racist and homophobic" messages sent out throughout Aug. 23rd. It was reported that staff members, the producer received enough trouble from anonymous outsiders that worried them about their safety, as well as, the safety of concert promoters and their families. That's why Concerts at Richmond, VA’s Altria Theater, New York City concerts at Kings Theater and the Beacon Theater have/will be moved.
Pollstar reported Atlanta PD Public Affairs Unit director Carlos Campos explained the sender, “seemed to have inside knowledge of the crew’s movements." The news platform also added that, "none of the crew members interviewed by police were aware of current or past employees who might send such messages."
Atlanta Police Department will continue to investigate the matter.
