Racquel Bailey had no time to wait around.
TMZ broke the story about this bold actress who advertised herself on a billboard to get the attention of esteemed director/actor, Tyler Perry. It's a route many wouldn't take for many reasons. Now, an update shows it was money well-spent.
Bookings for auditions flooded in after the viral billboard post hit social media accounts of major casting directors. Not only did it catch Perry's eye, but he even reposted it advising she never do such a thing again and gave kudos on previous work she's done. To her surprise, the Madea Family Funeral creator already knew of her.
Turns out Tyler couldn't have been that turned off because he gave Racquel an opportunity to audition for a part in a new BET show called, Sistas. Do we even have to tell you she booked the gig?
A source told the news outlet she will be playing a police officer who used to date one of the leading characters. We can expect to see her in the season one finale and hopefully season two.
Tenacity truly is key.
Congrats Racquel!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
