We're celebrating the life and legacy of the iconic, Aretha Franklin.
It's been a year since we lost this legendary staple of musical royalty to pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. Aretha came into the industry fresh-faced after pursuing a career in gospel music. Soon, her new destiny was found as she honed her powerfully unique voice towards R&B. Ms. Franklin naturally deserved her notorious title as The Queen of Soul with 18 Grammy wins, over a dozen pop chart-topping hits and being one of the few songstresses that can bring President Barack Obama to tears.
The "R-E-S-P-E-C-T" belting crooner has carried out a remarkable career and The Steve Harvey Morning Show is honoring her grandiose mark she left behind. Shirley Strawberry, Carla Ferrell, and the rest of the crew named some of their favorite Franklin songs before leading into a morning of soulful nostalgia.
