Nathaniel Taylor, who was best known for his role as Rollo on classic '70s show, Sanford and Son, died on Thursday (February 27) after a heart attack. He was 80.
Taylor's death was confirmed via a message from his promoter/family friend Alonzo Williams. "Today black Hollywood lost a 70s legend Nathaniel Taylor better known as 'Rolo' of the hit show Sanford and son past Feb 27th at UCLA medical center of complications from a recent heart attack," the message read. "Taylors character on Sanford and was the lovable, funny but questionable friend of Lamont the co-star of the show. Services are yet to be announced."
While Taylor is best known for his role on the show from 1972-1977, the actor also appeared in a number of action films like Trouble Man (1972) and The Hunter (1980). Taylor is survived by his wife, six children, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He would have celebrated his 81st birthday on March 31.
