While having a baby is supposed to be a joyous occasion, there are still folks out there who are going to have something negative to say, as is the case with Gabrielle Union and her hubby, Dwayne Wade.
The two love-birds welcomed their new bundle of joy, Kaavia James on November 7th via surrogate and received major backlash after Union took to social media to share their good news with the world.
In the photo, the 46-year-old actress was seen in a hospitable bed cradling a baby girl and folks responded negatively stating that she was "acting" like she just had a baby.
In an all-new special, "Oprah at Home with Gabrielle Union, Dwayne Wade & Their New Baby" airing Dec. 8th, the two sit down with Oprah Winfrey to share their experiences and milestones in their unique path to parenthood.
The couple address their "controversial" announcement and how "everyone started talking about why she [was] acting like she just had a baby.”
If you've been following Gabrielle, then you are no stranger to her fertility issues. In her memoir, "We're Going to Need More Wine: Stories That Are Funny, Complicated, and True," the new mom held punches with her difficult journey to motherhood.
“For three years, my body has been a prisoner of trying to get pregnant — I’ve either been about to go into an IVF cycle, in the middle of an IVF cycle or coming out of an IVF cycle,” she penned.
Now that their time has come, the entire crew agrees that they should be able to freely express their joy without any "haters" commenting on how they "should or should have not" made their announcement.
Take a listen:
Congrats to Gabrielle and Dwayne Wade as they embark on this beautiful journey.
