Have you ever wondered what it would be like to sleep like one of your favorite celebrities? Well wonder no more, your chance to sleep in beds that once belonged to Oprah Winfrey and former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton are going to be auctioned off by this weekend.
Asherwood, the Indiana estate of the late shopping mall tycoon, Melvin Simon, has them in tow. His widow, Bren, has given the 107-acre estate (which includes two golf courses, by the way) to the Great American Songbook Foundation, which in turn is having Guernsey’s auction off the some-12-thousand lavish lots including the beds.
According to Page Six, “Asherwood is filled with over-the-top, gold-leafed furniture that will all be sold,” sniffed one connoisseur. “Bargain hunters who admire the gilded lavishness of Mar-a-Lago will love this auction.”
If you're feeling lucky and have plenty of cash to spare, head down to the auction Carmel, Indiana on November 17th and 18th. Fore more information on the auction, visit guernseys.com.
