On Thursday night (October 11th), our very own Steve Harvey attended the 10th annual Merge Summit in Los Angeles, CA. Mr. Harvey was among the honorees at the Merge Gala awards, which recognize those making an impact in bridging the worlds of faith and entertainment. Joined by fellow award recipients Laila Ali, DeVon Franklin, and Chad Johnson & Michelle Williams, Harvey was presented with the award by the fabulous Shirley Strawberry at the Hilton Universal City, the site of this year’s Summit.
Not a dry eye was in sight as Steve accepted his award in honor of his best friend, Gregory Calhoun, who lost his battle with cancer earlier that morning.
We are uplifting Unc and the family of Mr. Calhoun in our prayers.
Take a listen as Shirley Strawberry shares a few words from our fearless leader on the loss of his best friend.
As for the annual Merge Summit, it is one of the largest events providing a platform for men and women of faith to interface, learn and partner with leading executives and talent in the entertainment industry, who lead workshops, interactive panels and master class sessions covering music, television, film, creative development, branding, marketing and new media.
