Who is Timothée Chamalet? He Is In Two Oscar Favorites

Who is Timothée Chamalet and why is everyone suddenly so obsessed with him?

If you're not in the Oscar know, Timothée Chamalet is a 22-year-old actor who is in two Academy Award nominated films: Lady Bird and Call Me By Your Name which he is up for Best Actor . The movie takes place in the summer of 1983, where 17-year-old Elio Perlman, played by Timothée spends the warm month with his family in Lombardy, Italy. This is where he meets Oliver, played by Armie Hammer, who is working as an intern for Elio's father. They spend the summer talking and learning from each other all whilst falling in love. "Who wouldn't fall in love with this guy right here," says Timothée while on Jimmy Kimmel Live with Armie.

There are many reasons to love Timothée right now and it's not just because he is in TWO Oscar nominated films. The young actor recently won The Gotham Independent Film award for "Break-Through Actor," in which he thanked Cardi B in his speech. You probably had to read that name twice right? Why would Hollywood's newest heartthrob be calling out Cardi B in his speech? Well Timothée says, "I shouted out Cardi B in my speech cause I was like... it was a New York event and I'm a New York guy, and I felt like it was due diligence to thank any and all New York artists who inspired me." Turns out the next day Cardi B actually acknowledged it!

Not only does he love Cardi but he also developed a "hip hop alter ego" at his New York high school. What was his name you ask? Well "it varies," Timothée tells James Corden on The Late Late Show. "Sometimes it was Timmy Tim, sometimes Lil Timmy Tim," continues the star. Who wouldn't be drawn to all of this adorableness?

Timothée was also seen recently hanging with Selena Gomez confirming their friendship when they both worked on Woody Allen's upcoming film A Rainy Day in New York. The two stars, who play lovers in the romantic comedy, were seen having drinks together with friends at a restaurant at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Hollywood according to E! News over the weekend. Timothée also made headlines when he decided to donate his salary from this Woody Allen film to the Time's Up campaign after realizing the controversy surrounding his director Woody Allen. He also donated additional funds to the e NYC LGBT Center and the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network (RAINN).

The young actor and Hollywood heartthrob is up against some movie legends for Best Actor at The Academy Awards this Sunday including Denzel Washington for Roman J. Israel, Esq, and Gary Oldman for Darkest Hour
