Mike Tyson is kicking off 2018 on a high note after announcing plans to open Tyson Ranch, a cannabis ranch, in sunny California.
On December 20th, in a remote desert about 60 miles southwest of Death Valley National Park, Tyson broke ground on a 40-acre plot of land in California City.
The 51-year-old former Heavyweight Champ was joined by business partners Robert Hickman, Jay Strommen and city mayor Jennifer Wood at what many are considering to be a "prime location" as the "Green Rush" hits California.
According to The Blast,
Tyson Ranch will be dedicating 20 acres of their land for cultivation facilities that “will allow master growers to have maximum control of their environment.” There will also be a Tyson Cultivation School to teach growers the latest and greatest ways to perfect their own strains.
Along with growing high-grade cannabis, Tyson Ranch will feature:
- Hydro-feed plant and supply store
- Extraction facility
- Edible factory
- Premium “glamping” campgrounds and cabins
- Amphitheater
Tyson Ranch, operated by Tyson Holistic, will work on advancing medicinal research and treatment of the plant. While the cannabis industry may be a new venture for some, Tyson has been a longtime advocate of its healing properties. With CBD proven to be an "anti-inflammatory, anticonvulsant, antioxidant and antipsychotic agent. It has been used to treat PTSD, as well." In fact Tyson Ranch "is comprised mainly of veterans," and focuses on "taking care of men and women who have served in the armed forces is a top priority."
Mayor Wood couldn't be more happier and considers the ranch to be a "rebirth" to the entire city.
I also hear that Mike is also locking in his new venture, "Iron Mike Genetics" for use on the ranch as well. Hmm...I wonder what else he has up his sleeve?
Tyson ranch is sure to be another KO for the boxing champ.
