Entertainment News: Trump vs. Harris, Tyrese's Rant, Judge Mathis' Advice

Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are set to face off in their first presidential debate next Tuesday, Sept. 10th, just eight weeks before the general election on Nov. 5th. This high-stakes debate will be held at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, moderated by ABC’s David Muir and Linsey Davis. Just like in the CNN debate, mics will be muted when candidates aren't speaking, and there won't be a live audience.

In other news, during a conversation with Civil Rights Attorney Benjamin Crump, R&B star Tyrese went on a heated rant about what he called the “Asian Anti-Hate Crime Bill,” slamming the Biden-Harris administration for allegedly prioritizing protection for Asians over Black and Brown communities. But here's the thing—according to congress.gov, the bill is actually called the “COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act” (S. 937), not the “Asian Anti-Hate Crime Bill.” It was signed into law in response to the surge in racist attacks against Asian Americans during the pandemic. Roland Martin wasn't having it and took to social media to call out Tyrese for spreading misinformation.

Switching gears to some disturbing medical news: A Florida doctor is in hot water after performing a colonoscopy without his hearing aids, leading him to miss the fact that the patient wasn’t fully sedated. The patient started yelling during the procedure, but the doctor didn’t immediately stop, which is a serious violation of the standard of care. Dr. Prasad now faces restrictions on his practice, a $7,500 fine, and additional malpractice claims.

Lastly, Judge Mathis got candid with TMZ at the airport about his current situation. After 39 years of marriage, his wife Linda filed for divorce on August 22nd. Mathis said he doesn’t want a divorce and offered this bit of advice: “Don’t neglect your wife.”
