The Strawberry Letter: I Had No Idea Where His Clothes Were Going

Dear Steve and Shirley,

I've been with my boyfriend for five years. I moved in with him when I got pregnant, and he asked me to marry him on our daughter's second birthday. We haven't had money for a wedding because he was in the process of starting his clothing line right when I got pregnant. He has a line of sweats, t-shirts, shorts, and baseball caps. He runs the business out of our guest room, and I help him ship the items. I can see when the inventory is low, and I noticed that a lot of the women's short sets vanished, but we didn't get any orders for them. When I questioned him, he said he sold them to a few ladies at a hair salon.

But on Monday, I saw a really cute young lady at the gym in our building wearing a pair of shorts and a t-shirt from his ladies' collection. I gave her a compliment and asked where she got the outfit. She said it was a gift from the guy that lives in the building. He asked her to model some of his clothing. She said he's been to her apartment a few times, but she's not into older guys. I asked her if he's 6'2" with a belly, and she laughed and said yes. I told her that he had tried to holler at me too. She told me that she can't see herself having sex with him, but he looks good to be 38 years old. She said that she tried on the clothing in her living room in front of him, and he said her body was driving him crazy.

I asked him about everything, and he denied any wrongdoing. He said he's been to her place twice to drop off the clothes, and that's it. He claims he's never seen her body. If this was just a business deal, he should have mentioned it. Is he a liar, or is she? They didn't have sex, so should I let it go?
