Entertainment News: Stephen A. Smith, Carlee Arrested, Mama Knowles Divorce

ESPN host Stephen A. Smith recently made yet another controversial statement… This time he tweeted something derogatory about Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner and the tweet appeared to come out of nowhere. Stephen A. tweeted, “Is Kim Kardashian a prostitute?” “Is Kris Kardashian a pimp?” He didn’t even get Kris’ last name right… it’s Jenner! Smith quickly deleted the tweet, but not before receiving a lot of backlash. Several people called Smith out for this post, including NBA player Patrick Beverly who tweeted, “Not cool. She has kids. Should not be the title or topic.” In response to all of the heat he received, Stephen A. issued this apology: “Clerical error bro. You are absolutely right. That is being corrected right now as we speak. And for the record, I don’t think of @KimKardashian that way nor would I ever speak of her or any woman that way, which I’ve stated. That’s for checking that issue.” The use of the phrase “clerical error” irritated thousands of people on Twitter, who then started mocking Stephen A. for consistently making poor excuses.

In other news, Carlee Russell, the Alabama woman who admitted to staging her own kidnapping and triggering a 49-hour search for her, turned herself into law enforcement and was charged with falsely reporting to law enforcement officers and falsely reporting an incident, both of which are misdemeanors. She was released from jail on $2,000 bail on Friday. In a statement from Carlee’s attorney, it was noted that Carlee Russell did not see a toddler on the side of the road, she wasn’t kidnapped and she did not leave the Hoover, Alabama area. The attorney stated that Carlee acted alone in this hoax. Also in the statement, Carlee apologized to the community for her actions but did not detail where she’d been during the 49 hours that she was missing.
