FAMU Scores $190k Donations from '99 Freshman Class

A generous donation by the class of 1999 granted FAMU incoming freshman a great reward.

Nikki Foster and Walt Brown led a digital fundraiser for their alma mater to celebrate their 10-year-college reunion. Donations from fellow students raised the entitled-Freshman Class Legacy Fund to a record-breaking $196,913. All of this is planned to go towards establishing a scholarship to allow financial freedom for future FAMU attendees.

Nikki exclusively told BOSSIP:

“We hope this encourages not only FAMUans to give back but all HBCU alums to dig deep in giving and change the narrative for all HBCU alumni giving. We are the culture and must invest and protect the future of our HBCUs."

While Walt stated:

“I wanted to make sure we didn’t just return to Homecoming to party. Although we partied hard, we also handled our business with the FAMU Foundation to give us much to celebrate.”

Let's go, Venom pride!
