It's OFFICIAL, official! Family Feud is going to Africa! Thanks to a collaboration between Steve Harvey Global and local production partner to Fremantle, Rapid Blue, the gameshow will now be internationally spread to South Africa and Ghana.
Given that Unc has been a part of the Family Feud circuit for almost a decade, he's in line to be the longest-serving host for the show in history, based on Deadline. Of course, that made him the top choice to take on the lead navigator role in this new journey. He stated:
“Bringing Family Feud to Africa has long been a dream of mine. I believe Family Feud will become a household name for local South African and Ghanaian families. And this is just the beginning in Africa. I expect this show to lead to multiple media and business projects in and throughout the continent.”
FF Africa will be one of many U.S. shows that will be formatted into an African version. It joins the list with Dancing With The Stars, The X Factor, Got Talent, Shark Tank and more. Production will begin in Johannesburg during the last of 2019 and air in African during "the second quarter of 2020."
