Steph and Ayesha Curry prove to be teammates in love, family and charity.
Aside from their recent self-named foundation that grants scholarships for young girls, the teenage sweethearts just kicked off Eat. Learn. Play. on June 18th.
The new organization is designed to bring awareness to healthier living and better education for children. In knowing the struggles families of low-income neighbors face, the call to strive for better was clear. The couple explained in a press release:
“Children are our future and we are deeply dedicated to empowering them and opening doors for their futures. This organization is all about instilling ongoing tangible change for underprivileged children growing up in the Bay Area and beyond. As parents, we see a multitude of unique opportunities our kids have access to, and our hope is that Eat. Learn. Play. and the critical fundamental development tools it provides will positively impact children in our community to live out their dreams.”
Oakland's Thursday launch event welcomed over 900 children with open arms. Kids and their families got to enjoy 12 different play stations that encouraged being active, eating right, and pushed for the pursuit of better education.
