A single mother in Lithia Springs, GA is being coined as the "Wig Fairy" for her philanthropic efforts to help boost the confidence of young girls who are battling cancer or other hair loss related issues.
Quilla Bohannon mother to 6-year-old daughter, Alexy understands the importance of self-esteem in young girls and how hair loss can tarnish a child's self-esteem. An entirely self-taught hairstylist and wigmaker, Quilla is using her gifts to change the lives of young girls one wig at a time.
Although it takes about a week and sometimes up to 30 days to make one wig, Bohannon remains inspired to put smiles on the faces of young girls. “When a kid sees their wig for the first time, it just melts my heart,” she said. “They’re already dealing with a lot, I want them to feel normal.”
Thus far, Quilla has made over 1,200 free wigs and has no intention of stopping any time soon.
Wow!
